ARMSTRONG JOINS FOR SECOND LOAN STINT

Young Hull KR forward joins until end of the season

We are pleased to confirm we have signed Kye Armstrong on loan until the end of the 2025 season from Super League leaders Hull Kingston Rovers.

Kye, 20, will be no stranger to Canes fans as he joined the club on loan until the end of the 2024 season whilst a member of Hull FC’s squad. Kye made two appearances for Midlands last year and featured in our away clashes with Keighley Cougars (which was his professional debut) and Oldham. Following the end of the 2024 season, Kye left the Airlie Birds and joined the Robins for the 2025 season where he has been featuring for their reserves side in addition to making three loan appearances for fellow League One outfit Goole Vikings against Keighley, Newcastle and Rochdale.

CanesTV spoke with Head Coach Mark Dunning about securing Kye on loan:

“It’s great to welcome Kye back to the club for the rest of the season. I’d like to put on record my thanks to everyone at Hull KR for helping us get this over the line.

Kye is someone we know well from his time with us last season. His abilities and qualities allow him to cover and create competition in a number of different positions, which at this stage in the season will be very valuable to us.”

CanesTV also spoke with Kye regarding his loan move to Midlands:

“I’m buzzing to link back up with the Hurricanes for the rest of the season. This is a club I know from my time on loan last year and I’m ready to rip in and hopefully have a positive end to this season.”

Kye is our second of three promised announcements today, with our third and final announcement coming at midday just before we confirm our 21-man squad to take on Whitehaven on Sunday.
