Welham brothers commit

Liam Welham

I am really looking forward to next season and it has been a pleasure being involved with the club so far. The club has made leaps and bounds forward and everyone has played their part both on and off the field. It has been hard for people like Alan Robinson to sustain everything with the recent funding challenges in the game and thankfully with new investment and the new club both he and the club can continue fulfilling their dreams of developing the game down here. Not letting all their hard work go to waste Alan and his team made a new plan and found other enthusiastic and motivated people I think this is fantastic and has a potential to create a massive impact on the sport within the area. With the correct people in place the team is going to improve, inspire and enforce the brand with the rugby league family and I’m happy to play my part in that.

I love the rugby league game and will continue playing until my body says it’s time to hang up the boots.

The players, coaches and staff in and around the hurricanes all have a great future within the game. I loved my time with the Bears and enjoyed playing my rugby again. It was a no brainer when Rich asked me to sign up again for 2022 and it’s great to have more of my family involved also!

The Bears has been the most enjoyable year I’ve had playing in League 1 and that’s down to the lads, coaching staff and medical team, we are all one big family!

We have had a taste of what it’s like to win versus big teams and just need to be more consistent and hopefully we can take that next step now.

Our squad has developed and we have some exciting new players joining us here, but a lot of the lads have played together before and that always helps.

Our aim is to strengthen our squad and create a good atmosphere and get the fans coming in and we want to show them that we are competing and that we will be in the top 4 this season.

“The move to the new ground will be great for building our fan base and around the club everyone is looking forward to it and all the new challenges will just bring us closer together. We are all in this together and that’s the way we like it. So stand back the Welham’s are back and there’s a Hurricane coming through!
