KEVIN SINFIELD'S 7 IN 7 IN 7 COMES TO THE ALEXANDER STADIUM
Rugby league fans across the Midlands will be well aware of Leeds Rhinos legend Kevin Sinfield and his herculean efforts to raise money and awareness for, amongst others, the Motor Neurone Disease Association, which have seen him awarded an OBE.
In news that will shock nobody – Sir Kev isn't done yet. For the first week of December (Thursday 1 December - Wednesday 7 December), Kevin will be running seven ultra-marathons in seven cites in seven days, which will see him run across Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland in an effort to raise an initial target of £777,777. If his previous fundraising efforts are anything to go by, he'll surpass this target with plenty of time to spare.
On Day 3 (Sunday 3 December), Kevin will be running around the great city of Birmingham. The best part? He'll start the Birmingham-leg of his marathon at none other than the home of the Hurricanes – The Alexander Stadium – at 10am!
In conjunction with the Midlands Hurricanes Supporters' Club, we are inviting all Hurricanes fans (as well as rugby league fans in the Midlands and beyond) to come to The Alexander ahead of 10am and cheer Sir Kev as he begins a route that will see him travel around:
Villa Park (home of Aston Villa FC)
St Andrew’s (home of Birmingham City FC)
Edgbaston (home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club)
En route to a city centre finish at Centenary Square (as per the route below):
We're looking forward to seeing you all there!
The 7 in 7 in 7 Challenge will support five charities which support and care for people affected by Motor Neurone Disease and their families, and invest in research to bring us closer to effective treatments and a cure for the disease. The main beneficiaries will be the MND Association and Leeds Hospitals Charity's appeal to build the Rob Burrow Centre for MND in Leeds. There will also be donations to My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, the Irish MND Association and the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, plus support for the 4ED campaign to support former Gloucester and Leicester Rugby Union player Ed Slater.
If you would like to support Kevin's latest efforts to help the c. 5,000 people living with MND in the UK right now, you can donate at:
