Kev then left an icy Alexander stadium in the driving rain and set out on a route that included other city sporting venues such as Villa Park, Perry Barr greyhound stadium, St Andrews and Edgbaston, before finishing the day in Centenary Square in the heart of the city.

This weekend the Hurricanes players and staff were at an army pre season training camp and they were saddened by the fact they could not join Kev for the first mile of his challenge on Sunday however Hurricanes commercial manager Nick Parr had the opportunity to speak to Kev prior to the Birmingham leg of his challenge and passed on the best wishes of the entire club.

Kev continues the challenge over the next few days in Edinburgh, Dublin, Brighton, before finishing in London.
