HORNER SIGNS FOR 2025

Todd Horner remains part of the storm for next season

We are delighted to confirm that young full-back Todd Horner has agreed an extension to his contract that will see him at The Alexander Stadium for the 2025 season (with the club retaining an option for the 2026 season).

At just 19, Todd was one of Head Coach Mark Dunning’s first signings as Horner had worked extensively under Mark at Bradford Bulls. Mark’s faith in the young back was immediately rewarded as he scored with his very first touch of the ball during the Canes nail-biting 23-28 defeat to 2023 League One Champions Dewsbury Rams. Much to the enjoyment of the Canes fans, Todd has gone on to be a starting member of the squad ever since, scoring 10 tries in 27 appearances across the 2023 and 2024 season. We are very excited to see what Todd will do for the club next season.

Todd on re-signing with the Canes:
It was an easy decision to stay at the club for me - I’ve enjoyed my time here so far. I’m liking what Mark and the staff are building with the club and I can’t wait to be a part of the journey and see where we can take the club.

Head Coach Mark Dunning on securing Todd for 2025:
We’re delighted that Todd has agreed to extend his stay at the club after an impressive last 18 months with us. Todd is developing into a quality young player and one that has been very consistent both in appearances and performances.
At just 20 years old he’s got lots of development left which is very exciting when taking in to account what he is currently producing.

We have plenty more retentions to confirm for you in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
