We are delighted to announce the signing of the experienced utility back Phil Cowburn.

Phil is a fantastic addition for us and will add a whole new dimension to our game. He’s been the best player in the south of the country for a good few years and has really developed his game over the last year. He was a stand out performer week in week out for West Wales Raiders and after numerous conversations it was plain to see he would be a great fit for us. He has a support game and passing game which we haven’t had over the last few years which can take really change the way we play. I’m looking forward to the impact Phil can have with us this year and after a full proper pre season under his belt I’m looking forward to see him hit the ground running.

The Hurricanes are a team on the up who picked up some impressive wins last season, Rich and Alan seem to have created a great environment at the club, and with the new signings the club has made this year I was excited to be a part of that.

I can bring some experience to the squad, I’ve played in League One for a few years now and understand what it takes to compete week in week out at this level.

I’m looking forward to getting a good pre season under my belt so we can hit the ground running come round 1.

The playoffs are a realistic expectation for the club, we’ve got a really exciting squad and can shock some teams this year. From a personal perspective I’m just looking to perform consistently each week and do everything I can to help the team succeed on the field.
