CALLUM MCLELLAND SIGNS FOR THE CANES
As confirmed Friday, we have signed former Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers half-back Callum McLelland on a one-year deal for the 2024 season.
Making his Super League debut at just 19 years old for Leeds, he went on to make 16 appearances for the former Super League Champions in league and cup competitions between 2019 and 2021, scoring two tries. During that period he also featured on loan for Championship side Featherstone Rovers, scoring five tries in 15 appearances across two spells. His performances also earned him a call up to Scotland, where scored three tries in two World Cup qualifying victories over Serbia and Greece.
His efforts earned him a move to fellow Super League side Castleford Tigers in 2022, however injuries hampered his progress and he left Castleford in June 2023. Despite having interest from teams closer to home in the Championship, having spoken to Mark and Leigh, Callum is now excited to lace up his boots and link up with the Hurricanes for 2024! We're sure the Canes supporters will be keen to give our new signing a warm welcome in the New Year.
